Stefan Erdmann (nee Gassner) was born on 21st February 1966 in Munich.

From the age of six he had guitar lessons (Spanish classical guitar). He put together his first band and music composition at the age of 12.

After his training as a typographer, and during his Civilian Service, he graduated from the Academy of Printing, and subsequently qualified as an Industry Master of Printing and Paper. He was always active as a musician, both live and in his own recording studio. In addition to the musical activities he also spent time as a freelancer, as he built up his own media agency.

In 1992 he established the company, xact GmbH with the emphasis on typography and graphic design.

During this time he initiated his first experiences and experiments with video and film. 1996 saw the establishing of the company ‘Move it! Video Archive’, which offers – in a similar way to a picture agency - film clips on a variety of subjects (amongst others, nature, people, cities, etc).

2001 was, at last, the fulfilment of a dream held for many years – a trip to Iceland. More trips to Iceland followed, and the connection to this land became ever stronger and more intensive...

In 2006 Stefan Erdmann married his long-standing life companion, Sabine, with whom he has had two children, a daughter, Ava, and a son, Silas.
